Watandar, My Countryman: Another feature film by the team who made The Staging Post
Many of you saw the feature film The Staging Post. Muzafar and Jolyon have just completed another feature documentary, Watandar My Countryman. It will premiere at the Adelaide Film Festival on the 23rd October at 1:45pm There will be red carpet, cameras, lights, an afterparty. We would LOVE to see you there.
We have arranged for some tickets to be put aside especially for friends of the film. There’s a discount and they will be good seats. Tickets available here. Please use the code - AFFWATANDAR22
(If you do buy a ticket, email Jolyon at jolyon@lightsoundartfilm.com so we can invite you to a small private event before the premiere)
Watandar, My Countryman continues to explore our beloved themes of community and connection. Once again built on the friendship between Jolyon and Muzafar, and Muzafar’s rare perspective and insight, the film provides a challenging but hopeful perspective on Australia’s history, and our possible future as a multicultural nation.
National Cinema Release
For those who can’t make the premiere in Adelaide, we are planning a national cinema release for February/March of 2023 and we would love your help.
If you are interested in having the film come to your cinema, city, school, university or otherwise, please fill out the information at this link and we will do our best to come to you. If you represent an organisation , community group or business and might want to sponsor our release we would love to discuss further. This film could not come at a more important time for multiculturalism, immigration and refugee policy in Australia.
Further updates shortly
Muzafar will be visiting Cisarua next week and we will have more updates from the schools, our resettlement program in Canada and Australia, Muzafar’s interactions with the new Immigration Minister and more. So much to share.
Thank you for all your support as always.
